You can easily use vinegar, mix it with other nontoxic cleaners and use it for a variety of household cleaning jobs and it will not cause toxic household pollution.

Too often we think of pollution as a big industry problem. Well, what about the household pollution that is caused by the everyday use of household cleaners, especially the ones with the warning labels on the bottle? All the detergents, cleaners and bleaches, etc. that is used (everywhere) eventually enters some surface and underground water sources when you flush it down your drain. When you consider that you and your neighbors are all washing these household chemicals down the drain, you can see that household pollution is a big problem.

Consider this: do you really need the suds and strong scents of the toxic and heavily scented commercial household cleansers? Instead of producing toxic household pollution and spreading chemicals around your home, you could be creating a sparkling clean environment using natural source vinegar as a natural cleaner!

Yes, the strong vinegar scent can put you off at first, but it only lasts for ten minutes or so. It really does go away and by being both tolerant and patient with the vinegar, you will get a reliable and nontoxic cleanser that is suitable for most surfaces. It would help the environment, if you can convince your friends, families and neighbors to reduce and prevent household pollution by using vinegar and other natural cleaners.

Whitening And Discoloration From Vinegar

You should also be aware that white vinegar can lighten some surfaces and fabrics. Apple cider vinegar and other darker vinegars can discolor some surfaces including grout. It is important to perform a spot test before you use vinegar to make sure that you will not discolor your surface or fabric.

Natural Wood Polish With Vinegar

You can create a great natural vinegar wood polish by mixing equal measurements of vegetable oil and vinegar. The oil acts as an emollient to the wood and allows the natural wood color to come through. The oil and vinegar act together to cleanse and condition the wood for polishing. Make a total amount of four tablespoons (two tablespoons each of the oil and vinegar) and put your mixture in a spray bottle for easy use. You can also add some lemon juice in place of the vinegar for a lemony scented wood polish. Clean the wood by spraying and wiping away any grime. Polish with a soft and clean cloth.

Washing The Dishes With Vinegar

You can add a tablespoon of vinegar to your hand dish washing water. The vinegar will add sparkle to your glasses and cut grease on your pots and pans. If you have a baked on dish or other hard to clean item in the kitchen, add a couple of tablespoons of vinegar in enough hot water to soak the item. Leave for ten minutes and clean as usual.

Kill Mold And Fungus With Vinegar

Vinegar can also be used to kill mold and fungi by spraying full strength vinegar onto a moldy surface and leaving for ten minutes before wiping away. Repeat as necessary. This nontoxic method of killing and removing mold and fungus is a safe alternative to toxic mold cleaners. You should check first that no discoloration will occur by performing a spot test.

General And Strong Cleaning Spray

Make a ten percent vinegar to ninety percent water mixture and use it in a spray bottle for most general cleaning purposes. For stronger cleaning purposes, keep a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. You can use your vinegar spray for keeping your shower and bathroom surfaces including mirrors clean. Even though vinegar is nontoxic, it kills most bacteria and germs that can make you, your family members and your pets sick. You do not need to use toxic cleansers to kill germs when you can use vinegar.

Clean Floors With A Vinegar Mixture

You can use a ten percent vinegar to water mixture to clean most floors. Instead of leaving a residue from a floor product, you can gently cleanse your floors with a vinegar mixture that will not add to your household pollution. Check with your floor manufacturer's directions if you are unsure whether a vinegar mixture can be used safely on the floor.

Vinegar can clean a variety of household surfaces because of its ability to remove dirt, grime, cut grease and disinfect surfaces. You can use vinegar in different strengths although the stronger vinegar mixtures are more potent against germs. Adding vinegar to your arsenal of household cleansers will provide you with an effective and natural cleaner that will reduce the amount of toxic pollution that you create and it will also save you money.

Household pollution can be reduced and prevented by using natural cleansers. Household pollution will be reduced if more people adopted a green attitude to household care and maintenance. Natural cleaners are nontoxic and safer for the environment, you and your family.
